Over the years, we have built strong relationships with key stakeholders across the UK. If you are looking for an ecologist in Exeter, take a look at the services we provide.

Our ecological services

Our ecologists provide a range of cost-effective services related to biodiversity, ecosystems and the environment. Some of the key services that we offer include:

  1. Biodiversity Assessment: Our ecologists assess and monitor the diversity of plant and animal species within specific ecosystems. This information can be used to determine whether a proposed development will meet biodiversity net gain requirements for planning permission.
  2. Ecological Impact Assessment (EIA): We can contribute to EIAs to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of proposed development projects. They provide insights into how projects may affect local ecosystems and suggest mitigation measures.
  3. Protected species surveys: Our ecologists can carry out surveys for both UK and European protected species on proposed development sites in order to determine whether any species are at risk. These often include surveys for barn owls, bats, and great crested newts following an ecological appraisal.
  4. Nature conservation and restoration: We work on projects to restore and rehabilitate damaged or degraded habitats. We develop strategies to bring back native plant and animal species and improve the overall health of ecosystems.
  5. Arboricultural surveys: Our ecologists can conduct tree surveys which are often required by local planning authorities if a potential development site will be within close proximity to trees and woodland.

Full members of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) can provide further information on these surveys.

The role of an ecologist is to provide expert advice and support on ecological and environmental issues. This is often done throughout the construction or planning process,a as local planning authorities have various environmental requirements for proposed developments.
