Collington Winter Environmental are highly professional ecology company with offices based in Greater Manchester and Dumfries, Scotland. Collington Winter Ecology Company: Our Director
Our Ecology Director and Principal Ecologist, Olivia Collington, is a Chartered Environmentalist with the Institute of Environmental Science (IES). She holds Natural England Bat and Great Crested Newt licences, as well Natural England Badger Mitigation Licences. She has worked with protected species across the UK, undertaking field surveys and writing scientific, accessible reports for submission at planning.
Olivia has many years of experience in the field of Ecology. She previously founded and grew the ecology division at a leading Manchester firm. Before that, she led the nationwide ecology team at another large ecology company based in Manchester. Her previous experience and professional development gained through her membership with IES have provided her with the knowledge and experience required to deal with all types of environmental challenges.
Olivia decided to go into business alongside Co-Director, Jane Winter, this year to grow the multi-disciplinary landscape architecture and ecology company, Collington Winter Environmental.
Our Ecological Services
Collington Winter Environmental offer a range of ecological services in both the private and public sector. We assist developers throughout the planning and execution of projects. We also offer our assistance throughout planning application processes. The services we provide include:
- Ecological surveys, to include Protected Species Surveys, Ecological Impact Assessments, and Preliminary Ecological Appraisals. The protected species surveys we offer include, great crested newt, bird, reptile, badger, water vole and bat surveys.
- Ecological Appraisal and Assessment. We evaluate the environment and biodiversity in the general vicinity of a proposed development site. We also assess the potential environmental impacts of development on the site. We can then provide advice on how to best resolve the ecological issues identified.
- Mitigation, avoidance and compensation strategies. We also offer advice and services to assist with ecological enhancement measures and biodiversity enhancement.
