Farming Business Innovation Show 2024

Our team at Collington Winter recently exhibited at the 2024 Farm Business Innovation Show, held at the NEC in Birmingham. A range of ideas and solutions for modernising and diversifying rural enterprises were showcased. Co-located with the Land, Leisure, and Tourism Show, the event provided a platform for farmers, landowners and rural business owners to explore alternative income streams and innovative practices.

This year’s event featured over 400 exhibitors and drew more than 11,500 visitors. It focused on helping participants adapt to industry challenges, such as unpredictable weather and shifting economic conditions. Key themes included agritourism, farm diversification, and leveraging the latest trends to improve profitability. Highlights included:

• Glamping solutions: Luxurious camping setups were spotlighted as opportunities for rural landowners to attract tourism revenue.
• On-farm vending machines: Innovative vending systems for eggs, milk, and seasonal products were introduced, offering low-maintenance income streams.
• Panel discussions: Agricultural professionals led discussions on rural planning, business rates, and digital marketing strategies, including a masterclass from Alton Towers on creating compelling video content.

This show underlined the importance of innovation in UK farming and demonstrated steps for participants to diversify their offerings and secure their business futures.
