Erdington Planning Portal: Applying for Planning Permission

The Erdington Planning Portal is the official online platform for submitting, managing, and tracking planning applications within the Erdington area. Designed to be simple and accessible, the portal allows applicants to upload required documents, follow the progress of their application, and receive timely updates. Local residents can also use the system to view proposed developments in their community and provide feedback during consultation periods.

To maximise your chances of approval and ensure compliance with Birmingham City Council’s environmental requirements, it is recommended that you seek ecological advice at the earliest stage. Collington Winter provides specialist consultancy to guide you through every step of the application process.

Using the Erdington Planning Portal

Prepare your application – Gather all required information and documents, including:

  • Completed application forms (available via the Erdington Planning Portal)
  • Accurate site location plans and elevation drawings
  • Supporting documents such as design and access statements
  • Ecological surveys, impact assessment, and mitigation strategies

Submit your application – Upload your documents through the portal. You will receive a confirmation and a unique reference number to track progress.

Public consultation – Your application will be added to the public register. Local residents and stakeholders will have the opportunity to review the proposal and provide comments.

Application review – Planning officers will assess your submission against both local planning policies and national guidelines. You may be asked to provide further details or revisions.

Decision – A decision will be made either by a planning officer or, for larger projects, by the planning committee.
