Desborough Planning Portal: Applying for Planning Permission
The Desborough Planning Portal is the official platform for submitting, managing, and monitoring planning applications in the county. Designed to be straightforward and accessible, it allows applicants to upload required documents and track the progress of their applications. Local residents can also use the portal to view proposals and provide feedback on developments in their community.
To maximise your chances of approval and ensure compliance with North Northamptonshire Council’s environmental requirements, it is highly recommended to seek ecological advice early in the process. Collington Winter offers expert consultancy to guide and support you through every stage of your application.
Using the Desborough Planning Portal
Prepare your application – Before submitting, make sure you have all the necessary information and documents, including:
- Completed application forms (available via the Desborough Planning Portal)
- Accurate site location plans and elevation drawings
- Supporting documents, such as design and access statements
- Ecological surveys, impact assessments, and mitigation strategies
Submit your application – Once completed, upload your application to the portal. You will receive confirmation and a reference number for tracking.
Public access and consultation – Your application will be published on the public register, where residents and stakeholders can review it and submit comments during the consultation period.
Application review – Planning officers will assess your proposal against local policy and national planning guidance. If concerns arise, amendments may be requested.
Decision – Depending on the scale and complexity of the project, the final decision will be made either by a planning officer or a planning committee.
